The Milton Hotel, Milton

You'll find top quality food, beers brewed in house and warm hospitality at this recently renovated destination pub.

First Impressions
Despite a significant renovation, the exterior of The Milton Hotel still exhibits the down-to-earth nature of a classic Australian pub. Step inside and you’ll see that this is far from your regular local, with an incredible modern renovation that blends seamlessly with the existing building, and a crowd enjoying what looks like some pretty impressive food - this isn’t the place to go if you’re just chasing a schnitty.

The Offering
The focus here is on local produce done simply but extremely well, often with added flourishes both in ingredients and technique. This is far from your standard pub fare, with mains focusing around the BBQ and Wood Fire Oven, ranging from locally caught fish to a perfectly cooked lamb rump and our favourite, the wood fire prawns. There’s even an in-house brewery (The House of Dangerous Ales) developing some of the best craft beers you’ll find anywhere. The team is led by ex-chef Damien Martin, who’s impressive resume includes stints at Gordon Ramsay's Kitchen in London as well as Sydney's Quay, Morzine in the French Alps and Vasse Felix Winery in Western Australia.

You’ll Drive Back For
Innovative cuisine served in a historic pub with a beautifully modern renovation. This is not your regular pub and is as good as any fine dining restaurant you’ll find across Australia, but with the added perk of stunning views over rolling hills toward the ocean.

Worth The Drive?

We’ll be dreaming of returning to eat more of the delicious wood fired prawns with tamarind and lime for some time. We’re not ashamed to say we will drive somewhere specifically to eat, and this place is no exception. A great local doing plenty of interesting things both in the food and beverage department. Worth the drive.
